CHILDREN’S HOUSE

The school's two Children's House environments accommodate 25 to 30 students ages 3 to 6. These beautifully designed environments are equipped with a vast selection of Montessori materials and activities that assist the children in their overall development.

Guided by a Montessori teacher (guide) and an assistant, the children engage daily in purposeful and motivating activities, carried out at their own pace, and independently chosen. The Montessori guide is constantly observing the children's interactions with the environment, the materials, and each other to determine what kind of intervention is needed. Presentations of new concepts are introduced individually depending on the child's readiness and capacity; children are then allowed plenty of time to repeat the materials for mastery and control.

The curriculum for this age group includes:

      1) Practical Life, 2) Sensorial Material, 3) Mathematics, 4) Language, 5) Cultural

Areas, 6) Music and Art, and 7) Spanish.

We offer three sessions for this level: half day (8:30 am - 11:30 am) or full day (8:30 am -

3:00 pm) for ages 3 to 4, and the extended day (8:30 am - 3:00 pm) for 5 year olds.
